gubernatorial candidate under the platform of the Young Progressive Party in
Ogun state has stated reasons why he wants to become the governor of Ogun state
come 2019. Having critically
understudied the problems and challenges of the
people of Ogun state, Comrade Babasola
Adegbuyi Ogunwa highlighted his manifesto in five critical areas in which
education takes the most priority.
He promised to implement his agendas with honesty and
sincerity of purpose, thus ready to give service to the people. The highlight
of his manifesto is as follows:
Education, Healthcare system, Agriculture, Industrial revolution, Infrastructure.

Comrade
Babasola Adegbuyi Ogunwa made the
issue of affordable quality education his top priority. He promised to increase
the funding to education and take the issue of training of teachers his top
priority.
To him, education remains the bedrock of every society in
which Ogun state must not be left out. He decried the poor state of education
in Ogun state and the loss of standard among pupils and students he also
promised to bring back the standard and glory of education in Ogun state.
- Healthcare
system:
He was saddened by the poor state of healthcare services by
our public health providers. The inhumane state of our general hospitals was a
great concern to Comrade Babasola
Adegbuyi Ogunwa as he promised a total turnaround the state's health
sector.
He promised to adequately fund the health sector with
training for health practitioners across board. He noticed that the sector
required a holistic approach in giving it a world class standard. According to
him, the era of medical tourism by the good people of Ogun state shall be a
thing of the past after in emergence as the governor of Ogun state.
- Agriculture

He noted that the twelve farm settlements currently in Ogun
state where established during the day of late chief Obafemi Awolowo. He also decried the poor state of facilities
in those farm settlements by subsequent government.
If elected into office come 2019, Comrade Babasola Adegbuyi Ogunwa promised to revitalize the farm
settlements with modern facilities that will attract youths into farming. He
promised to priorities the employment of graduates in the field of agriculture
and make farming business attractive to all. With the potential chain of
employment in agriculture, he promised to take the business of agriculture to
the next level.

The poor state of infrastructure in Ogun state was a shock
to Comrade Babasola Adegbuyi Ogunwa
as he intends to rehabilitate all the major roads in the state. He promised to
make the dualization of roads in the
state with the employment of contractors from Ogun state. He believes that
repairing already existing roads is more important than constructing new ones.
He noted that bridges in Ogun state may not be necessary compared to roads. He
promised an infrastructural revolution in the state.- Industrial revolution:
He promised to carry out a massive industrial revolution in
Ogun state with the view to repositioning Olokonla
LNG. This he intends doing through sponsoring of bills to the state assembly in that effect.
He promised to sponsor a bill to increase local
content in the state to 85%, thereby increasing employment rate for Ogun state
residence by the companies within the state. He believes that with the right
education, our students would be able to
generate the power they consume in their schools. He promised power
generation by the state government to woo and encourage investors into the
state. He also promised negotiations for wavers to encourage investors into the
state and to provide an
enabling environment for doing business in the state.
It is based on this that he intends
to contest the coming gubernatorial election in Ogun state under the platform
of the Young Progressive Party.
He believes that it is only through YPP that he can achieve his aspiration
as the only political platform without godfathers. Among political parties clamoring
for youth’s participation in Nigeria, Comrade
Babasola Adegbuyi Ogunwa noted that YPP
remains the only political platform championing the true course of youth’s participation in government. He
therefore calls on well-meaning young Nigerians with integrity to join YPP as only credible platform.
