Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has fiercely denied claims that she deliberately ignored fuji music icon Pasuma during a recent event in Lagos, blasting the viral narrative as “evil” and misleading.
The controversy erupted after a video surfaced on X, showing Pasuma seemingly trying to get Akindele’s attention while she was engaged in conversation with another guest. In the clip, the actress appeared not to respond immediately, prompting the fuji star to quietly return to his seat.
The moment quickly sparked outrage online, with many social media users accusing Akindele of publicly disrespecting the music veteran. Fueling the speculation, an X user, Uoladiti, shared the clip with the caption: “Moment Funke Akindele snubbed Pasuma in public. This is not looking good at all.”
Reacting to the backlash, Akindele shut down the rumors, insisting there was no bad blood between her and Pasuma. According to her, she not only greeted him but also danced with him at the same event.
“Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, danced with him. Pasuma is my Egbon. Pls you all should stop this evil,” she wrote.
Her response comes amid renewed scrutiny over her public interactions, especially after she was previously accused of snubbing fellow actress Toyin Abraham at a movie premiere an incident that reportedly left Abraham upset enough to vow never to approach Akindele publicly again.
