“Exposed? Papa Ajasco Actor Slams ‘Fake Help’ Narrative, Says He’s Still Broke Despite Viral Sympathy!”
Veteran Nollywood actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known for his role in Papa Ajasco, has publicly denied viral claims that he received a car and a $25,000 gift insisting he is still struggling and relying on public transport.
The controversy began after Ayoyinka’s emotional interview with media personality Lucky Udu went viral in March 2026, where he opened up about years of hardship despite his long-standing presence in the entertainment industry. The interview sparked nationwide sympathy and reactions from Nigerians.
However, things took a dramatic turn when producer Wale Adenuga pushed back, suggesting the actor had benefited from significant support during his time on Papa Ajasco and Company, including access to vehicles like a Mercedes-Benz.
The situation escalated further after Udu publicly accused the actor of showing little appreciation for efforts made to assist him, revealing he had even tried to arrange additional support, including a meeting with a pastor in Abuja, a plan that reportedly fell through.
But speaking in a fresh interview with Daddy Freeze, Ayoyinka dismissed the widespread reports as false.
“I am still trekking and jumping the bus. I did not receive any car… some people even came to my house expecting to see one,” he said.
According to the actor, while the viral interview did bring renewed attention and goodwill, the actual support he received came directly from Nigerians totaling nearly ₦6 million in donations, with contributions ranging from ₦1,000 to ₦1 million.
He clarified that he has not received any luxury gifts as widely circulated and emphasized that his current reality remains far from the glamorous narrative being pushed online.
Ayoyinka also addressed claims about his past, acknowledging he once owned an old Mercedes 200 during his acting career but no longer has it.
The actor maintained that his decision to speak out was driven by the need to correct misinformation and set the record straight about his situation.
Meanwhile, he hinted at a strained relationship with Udu, revealing that attempts to reconnect including plans to meet in Abuja were unsuccessful, as his calls went unanswered.
