 SENATE TO BEGIN DEBATE ON 2018 BUDGET ESTIMATES NEXT WEEK

President of the Senate Bukola Saraki has announced that the upper chamber would begin the consideration of the general principles of the 2018 budget proposal next week.

Making the announcement, at the commencement of Thursday’s plenary, Saraki called on his colleagues, who intend to make contributions to write down their names, saying the debate would hold on Wednesday and Thursday next week before the bill would be committed to the Senate committee on Appropriation, chaired by Senator Danjuma Goje.

Shortly, after Thursday's plenary, the Senate Spokesperson, Senator Sabi Abdullahi representing Niger North gave other details on consideration of the general principles of the 2018 fiscal estimates. 

‎you would recall that President Muhammadu Buhari presented the 2018 budget proposal of eight point six one two trillion Naira which is 16 percent higher than the 2017 budget to a joint session of National Assembly on the 7^th of November.
