Nigerian singer and producer Young Jonn has openly admitted that he is not ready for a committed relationship, saying he cannot devote himself to just one woman at this point in his life.
Speaking in a recent interview on Afro Today, the 31-year-old revealed that although he believes in love, he currently lacks the emotional availability to give one partner the time and dedication a serious relationship demands.
According to him, rather than lead someone on or fall short of expectations, he would rather keep things casual and maintain platonic connections for now.
“Everybody loves love. I mean, love is wonderful. But, I’m not really in that space where I can give so much of me to one person. So, I’m just keeping it platonic with everybody,” he said.
Young Jonn added that entering a serious relationship without being able to fully commit would be unfair, stressing that he would rather avoid putting anyone in that position.
He further stirred reactions when he bluntly confessed that his biggest issue is staying committed to one woman.
“I don’t want a serious relationship right now because I feel like I won’t be able to give that person as much as I’m supposed to. So why put them in that situation? My problem with women is that I can’t stick with just one dish. I’m human, I can’t help it.”
His remarks have sparked debate online, with many fans interpreting the statement as a candid confession about his struggle with commitment and desire for variety in relationships.
