Content creator Layi Wasabi has admitted that his once-rigid approach to relationships crashed after facing the harsh realities of Lagos dating.
Recall that in an earlier interview, the skit maker boldly declared that he did not believe in having a “girlfriend,” insisting that every relationship must begin with marriage in mind. According to him, he always looked for “wife material” from the very start.
“I don’t believe in the concept of a girlfriend. I believe in partnership... I have to see the wife in the person from the beginning,” he said.
But reacting to the resurfaced clip on social media, Layi Wasabi confessed that Lagos dating changed his perspective, joking that the experience nearly “finished” him.
“Lool na this mentality I use enter Lagos dating pool. Dem wan kill me. Abeg I no dey try see wife in the beginning again o. Thanks,” he wrote.
His statement suggests that the comedian has abandoned the idea of searching for a wife from day one, after discovering that Lagos dating comes with realities far different from his expectations.
Layi Wasabi rose to fame through his online comedy skits, where he humorously portrays a lawyer while commenting on everyday social experiences.
