Popular Nigerian singer Seun Kuti has stirred controversy after alleging that IShowSpeed’s recent African tour was secretly funded by Elon Musk as part of a covert mission.
In a viral video making rounds online, Seun claimed he recently discovered that Elon Musk allegedly sponsored IShowSpeed’s trip across Africa not to promote culture as publicly stated but to monitor how far his satellite network had expanded on the continent.
According to Seun, the tour’s organisers initially reached out to meet with him in Nigeria, but suddenly went silent after he agreed. He said repeated calls and messages were ignored, and only later did he allegedly learn the “real reason” behind the visit.
“Elon Musk was the one who sponsored the whole thing to know where his satellites had reached in Africa. That’s why they were visiting bushy areas. It was all a spy job for Elon Musk,” Seun claimed.
The Afrobeat singer suggested that what looked like a cultural tour was actually a hidden intelligence mission, accusing the team of using entertainment as a cover for gathering information across remote African locations.
News recalls that IShowSpeed, who toured 20 African countries in January 2026, had said the trip was aimed at promoting African culture but Seun Kuti now claims there was a far more secretive agenda behind the scenes.
