Sowore Reacts As Nigerian Activist, Harrison Uncovers Plot To Assassinate Him

Former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has alleged an assassination plot against him, describing it as part of a broader pattern of targeted intimidation aimed at silencing dissenting voices.

Sowore made the claim in a post on X, stating that the alleged plot was uncovered by activist Chizorom Harrison Ofoegbu, popularly known as Ijele.

According to Sowore, the revelation reinforces his long-standing belief that there are deliberate efforts to intimidate and potentially eliminate individuals who challenge injustice and oppression.

“The assassination plot against me… is not an isolated incident. It is part of a consistent and deeply troubling pattern of targeted intimidation and violence aimed at silencing dissent,” he said.

The activist maintained that such threats are not random but carefully planned and sustained over time. He also recounted past experiences, alleging that he has survived multiple assassination attempts, including encounters involving operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.

Sowore further referenced the 2021 killing of his brother, Felix Olajide Sowore, suggesting it formed part of a wider pattern of attacks and intimidation.

He claimed that over the years, powerful actors have deployed various tactics to silence him, including alleged harassment of his family and attempts to discredit concerns surrounding such incidents.

While noting that specific details of the alleged plot were not directly disclosed to him, Sowore insisted that the threats against his life remain ongoing.

He, however, declared that such actions would not deter his activism, adding that efforts to suppress the struggle for justice would ultimately fail.
