Ilebaye Odiniya’s mother, Lami Calista, has alleged that her ex-husband demanded ₦30 million from their daughter before allowing her back into his home after allegedly forcing her out.
Calista made the explosive claim in a video circulating on social media while addressing backlash over an earlier viral clip in which she appeared to publicly disown the reality TV star.
In the initial recording, Calista was heard emotionally condemning her daughter and warning her never to contact her again.
“Ilebaye don’t look for me… I disown you today,” she said in the now-viral clip.
However, Calista has now claimed the video was part of a calculated plan between her and Ilebaye to expose deepening family tensions involving her father.
According to her, the father allegedly blamed her for taking Calista away from the family home and later ordered Ilebaye out as well.
“The father drove her out of the house too… before he can accept her back into the house, she has to give him ₦30 million,” Calista alleged.
She added that she personally begged him to let their daughter return home, promising the money would be paid later.
Appealing to Nigerians not to attack the BBNaija star online, Calista claimed Ilebaye has been silently battling emotional and family struggles away from social media.
“That girl has been through a lot… If not that she called for help, she won’t have survived it that night,” she said.
The controversy comes days after the Federal Capital Territory Police Command confirmed the arrest of Emmanuel Odiniya over an alleged assault on Ilebaye at a residence in Wuye.
