Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has sent fans into a frenzy after confirming that he is set to release a joint project with American R&B star Chris Brown next year.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Swift Conversations podcast, Davido revealed that while his current sound is deeply rooted in African music, he remains open to working with international artists especially Chris Brown, with whom he has built a strong musical chemistry over the years.
According to Davido, “The music I am making now is very African. In this next project, I am working with a lot of my original producers from back home. However, I am still an American so definitely there’s going to be collaborations. Me and Chris Brown got an album coming next year.”
The announcement has stirred massive excitement across the music scene, as fans eagerly anticipate what promises to be a blockbuster collaboration between the two global stars.
Davido and Chris Brown first teamed up in 2019 on the smash hit Blow My Mind, a collaboration that quickly became a fan favorite and strengthened their creative partnership. Since then, the duo have worked together on several songs, delivering chart-topping records and building anticipation for a larger joint body of work.
Hints about the project have been circulating for years, with Davido first teasing the possibility of a collaborative album back in 2023. He also disclosed that both artists already have a stash of unreleased songs, fueling speculation that the upcoming album could be packed with major hits.
With Davido doubling down on his African roots while joining forces once again with Chris Brown, the upcoming project is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about releases of next year.
