Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P and one-half of the former P-Square duo, has stirred fresh controversy after officially changing his birthday date amid his ongoing bitter rift with his twin brother, Paul Okoye.
The singer announced via social media that his birthday will no longer be marked on November 18, revealing that all celebrations should now hold on November 30 instead. He also made it clear that he would no longer acknowledge gifts or birthday messages sent on the former date.
In his statement, Peter wrote: “Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day. My birthday will now be celebrated on November 30th. This is a personal decision, and I truly appreciate your understanding. Thank you all.”
The sudden decision has fueled speculation, especially as it comes in the middle of his highly publicized fallout with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, and their elder brother Jude Okoye, who previously managed the iconic music group.
The long-running feud between the brothers has badly fractured their once-admired family bond, with Peter previously admitting that their relationship has deteriorated beyond repair.
In a past interview, Peter did not hold back as he declared that he no longer sees his brothers as family, accusing them of betrayal and emotional pain.
According to him, “We are no longer family at this point! Family is blood-related, but the real family is loyalty.”
He further added that years of silence nearly destroyed him, saying: “Love doesn’t manipulate, loyalty doesn’t betray, and family doesn’t steal from you. Family that steals and breaks you isn’t family at all.”
Peter’s decision to alter his birth date has now added another dramatic layer to the already messy family crisis, leaving fans wondering whether this symbolic move is yet another sign that the legendary Okoye brotherhood has completely fallen apart.
