Nigerian music executive and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has stirred reactions online after boldly declaring that singer Johnny Drille is the most complete musician in the Nigerian music industry.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Crea8torium podcast, Don Jazzy claimed that no artist in Nigeria currently matches Johnny Drille’s level of talent, versatility, and musical excellence.
According to the veteran producer, Johnny Drille stands in “a world of his own” and remains unmatched when it comes to songwriting, live performance, production, and vocal delivery.
“If you look at the Nigerian music industry right now, there is nobody like Johnny Drille. He is in a world of his own. He is like the best musician the complete musician that I know,” Don Jazzy said.
He further praised the singer for his ability to write, sing, mix, and perform flawlessly both in the studio and on stage.
The statement has already sparked heated conversations among music fans, with many debating whether Johnny Drille truly deserves the title over Afrobeats heavyweights dominating the charts.
Meanwhile, Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage also opened up about her career journey and how Don Jazzy played a major role in helping her successfully switch from R&B to Afrobeats after returning to Nigeria in 2012.
Speaking in an interview with TVC, Tiwa Savage revealed that Don Jazzy convinced her that talent has no limits and encouraged her to fully embrace the Nigerian sound.
