Reality TV star Phyna has sparked fresh controversy online after calling out Moniepoint CEO, Tosin Eniolorunda, over alleged remarks about hiring Nigerians.
In a viral video making the rounds, the BBNaija winner didn’t hold back, slamming the statement as not only offensive but tone-deaf in today’s harsh economic climate.
According to Phyna, the claim that there are over 500 job vacancies that can’t be filled because “Nigerians are not smart” is deeply disrespectful.
She questioned the value of such jobs, arguing that even a monthly salary of ₦500,000 may not be attractive in today’s reality.
“Some people earn more than that daily on TikTok,” she said. “From morning till night, they’re making money that beats your salary.”
Her comments have ignited debate online, with many Nigerians weighing traditional employment against the rising appeal of digital hustles and content creation.
As the cost of living continues to climb, the clash highlights a growing divide between corporate expectations and the new wave of online earners redefining success.
